About Us

Tricolor by Maria & Amaya is a small business that originated on the northeast coast of Florida. Founded in 2012, they have produced handcrafted jewelry designs for all styles and genders, inspired by diverse cultures. Some of their pieces even incorporate vintage elements. In 2015, they relocated to Brooklyn, NY, and began expanding their accessories line. After the pandemic, Maria and Amaya increased their production and designs, participating in pop-up markets and other events.

 Their jewelry and accessories have been very well received by customers. Ninety-five percent of Tricolor's jewelry and accessories are designed and handcrafted using natural materials such as stones, crystals, pearls, and plants. They utilize metals like gold-filled, 925 sterling silver, brass, and copper, and also work with resin. Some pieces are made from recycled materials and incorporate crochet and beadwork techniques.  And 5 percent are sourced from materials to match their handmade and designed products.

 Every year they participate in important markets and pop-ups in New York City and up state. All with great sales success. Maria is an art teacher at an elementary school in Brooklyn; her daughter Amaya is a high school student who will be a future fashion designer and is currently part of the fashion industry at a New York high school. They all draw inspiration from the places and countries they have traveled to and from where they acquire most of the materials to create their designs.
